Happy New Year Chicks and Peeps,
Our inaugural year couldn't have been better and it's thanks
to members like you and the many great businesses in Houston that have helped us along the way.
In just twelve months we've recruited over 500 members, created an interactive Facebook Fanpage and have been
tweeting
about volunteer and fundraising activities all across the US.
We've been blessed with opportunities to share information about our organization and events on KPRC-
the local NBC news affiliate, Envy Magazine, Barstool Magazine and Change Magazine (our chick Melissa
Sims had her bra on the cover the magazine!).
And now, we're chomping at the bit to start 2010 off with a bang and share what we have in store.
A huge chicky thanks to April Guzik for designing this e-blast template and to Crave Sushi for
the sponsorship to keep us in touch with you in an easier manner! Again, we couldn't have had
such a great year without the help of people and businesses just like them. We always love
sending business back to those that helped us, so if you're looking for a place to eat, to
drink, to get your hair done, to photograph your wedding, and many other things..check out our
partners page.
Thanks again to our vendors, members, and great organizations we've worked with along the
way to make this group a whole lotta fun and a huge success. This is exactly why we started
Charity Chicks Houston and looking back, we wished we would have started it years ago!
Chicks and Cheers,

Thank You to our Volunteers!
First, a big holiday thanks to our 20+ volunteers at the Jingle Bell Express on Dec. 12.
It was such a touching experience to help so many families in need by literally helping them shop for new toys, books, bikes and food packages. |

Tuesday, January 19th - CRAVE A CURE
Our first event/happy hour is CRAVE A CURE on Tuesday,
January 19th from 6-9. For a $20 donation, Crave Sushi in Midtown is offering
complimentary wine and sushi appetizers with net proceeds benefiting Young Texans
Against Cancer (YTAC).
We learned about this organization through one of our Super Woman Charity Chicks
who is an active member in YTAC and we love promoting and working with non-profits
our members are passionate about.
We know it's a Tuesday, but swing by after work and bring a few co-workers along.
It's a great chance to network, mingle and learn more about the services and events
YTAC does.
Location: Crave Sushi in Midtown
Time: 6-9 {come anytime}
Cost: $20 donation

February 11 - BIG-TIME
Are you a fanatic? Well we are and that's why our BIG-TIME
event for the first quarter is partnering with Fanatical Change on February 11 at the House of Blues.
The Fanatical Change Foundation restores the intimacy in charitable giving by identifying
recent victims of life-altering tragedy and letting the power behind their individual stories
of suffering inspire our donors to be the change they wish to see in the world.
Every single dollar raised at this event will go to families that suffer a life-alerting
tragedy the week of the event. It is our hope that all donations will help 10 Houston families
the very next day.
We like to keep the events we partake in affordable for all, so there is a minimum
donation of $15 to help a LOCAL family in need. In the month leading up to the event,
we are looking for some volunteers to help secure donations and silent auction items.
If you've got some extra time on your plate and are up to the task, email us!
Location: House of Blues
Cost: minimum donation of $15
